Last summer, I had the chance to finally check out Alterna Haircare with their summer appropriate Bamboo collection. Its tropical scent and lightweight was perfect for the hotter months. Now, I have discovered another Alterna gem suited for my dry winter hair.
It isn’t a new thing that alphabet creams have invaded hair care (see this post here). I wasn’t super surprised to see Alterna launch a “CC Cream“. But unlike those we put on our face, this is actually a “complete correction cream” that is left on hair and can super charge any style.
I’ve been using this 10-in-1 formula alone on wet hair for slightly more body and smoothing. The smell can’t be beat – fresh and clean without being overly floral. The texture of the formula (think a rich lotion) is easily applied to hair. A little goes a long way – I’ve been using a dime-sized dollop and sometimes feel as I may have used slightly too much product. The cream can also be used as a finisher on dry hair.
So what are these 10 magical things that the Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Complete Correction Crème achieves? Moisture, Shine, Smoothness, SoftnessAnti-Breakage, Heat Protection, Light Hold, UV Protection, Manageability and Strength. Anti-aging properties are thanks to Amino acids and Omega-3 from caviar, vitamin C to fight free radicals, Color Hold to boost brightness, Seaslik to repair and add moisture and Emxymetherapy that can boost Keratin production.
If you are looking for something to add a little umph – think your hair but better – check out this all-in-one styling cream. It works beautifully on my fine hair and I think would be suited for those with slightly thicker hair as well. Strands look more polished and shiny but aren’t stiff or overly saturated in product.
As co-owner of Alterna, Katie Holmes gives her seal approval and if I can get even slightly close to having hair like Katie, I’m sold. Free of parabens and sulfates.
