For my final favorite from last night’s Golden Globes, I want to share Amber Heard’s Hourglass Makeup. But first, as I was planning this post, I realized I almost always share a look from Hourglass during awards season. There must be something about these luxe and neutral colors that make for the most flawless and glamorous looks. Amber is no exception. Paired with her midnight blue Atelier Versace dress and romantic up-do, the nude but sultry makeup was perfection. “Amber brought some of her own ideas to the mix,” says makeup artist Matthew VanLeeuwen. “She liked the idea of focusing on sultry chocolate eyes, creamy skin and soft nude lips. I was just bringing out the remarkable geometry and beauty of her face.”
Matthew prepped the skin with Cle de Peau Gentle Nourishing Emulsion and primed with Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum. “No. 28 hydrates beautifully but it also creates a magical finish,” he says.
He used Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer in Warm followed by Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup in Light Beige.
Brows were defined with Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette (one of my personal favorites).
For the eyes, Matthew applied the shell shade from the Hourglass Vol. 6 Eye Palette as a base color. The bronze shimmer shade from Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Gypsy was used in the crease. He then deepened the look with the brown shade from Vol. 6 Eye Palette to the outer corner, top and bottom of the lids.
Eyes were lined with MAC Eye Kohl Prunella, a deep plum. “I also smudged the line with the black shadow from the palette,” he says. For mascara, he used Hourglass Film Noir Mascara.

Finish with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light, an opalescent sheer powder which mimics a moonlit glow (another Belle Belle favorite).
For the lips, line with Hourglass Trace Lip Liner in Bare and finish with Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Whisper.
