It is Friday and you know what that means… I’m back on Great Day Green Country and it is time to ring in spring. After a frigid and icy weekend, we have 60s and 70s for the next four or five days (yes, there is a patio in my near future – likely around happy hour today). And what better way to celebrate the warmer weather than some spring shades. Today, I am rounding up the six products to warm things up on your vanity:
NARS Matte Multiples: If you haven’t heard the buzz about this launch, you might be under a rock. Modeled after their famous The Multiple, these matte versions are designed for cheeks and lips but according to François Nars “there’s no rules no right way or wrong way” to use them. They can be used wet or dry. Laos has been the perfect rose coral to brighten my cheeks and Vientiane is now my new “go-to” for contouring.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush: Previously reviewed here, the shade I’ve been grabbing for is Ethereal Glow. And while I wouldn’t describe it as a traditional blush, I love the hint of pigment married with highlighter. I find it provides the perfect radiance on my cheekbones.
Supergoop! Gradual Self-Tanning Sunscreen Mousse Broad Spectrum SPF 20: We always need sunscreen, but our pale winter skin is even more susceptible to burns not to mention needing some serious bronzing. This moisture-infused formula gives a sheen and has a pleasant cucumber scent. And gives us crucial sun protection.
Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss: I’m starting to think Urban Decay can do no wrong with their NAKED collection. The newest – lipgloss – is no different. This creamy formula also acts as a hydrating balm that improves the look of lips (with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, rosehip seed oil avocado oil, and shea butter). Not to mention all the shades are so über-wearable. My favorite has been Lovechild, a medium pink.
Laura Mercier Metallic Créme Eye Colour: If you are anything like me, warmer days mean a simple and clean eye – none of this seven-step-smokey nonsense. This cream eyeshadow not only gives a fresh look but also stays on rain or shine, pool time or hike. The waterproof and metallic shades are perfect for a wash of color or layer them on for a more opaque look. Copper Sunrise gives that rose gold glow that is so right for spring.
eos Smooth Lip Balm Sphere Limited Edition Spring 2-Pack: Okay, you caught me. Technically not color but Strawberry Sorbet and Fruit Punch are packaged together for a spring pack that is just too cheerful to resist. The perfected formula keeps lips looking healthy with a great scent. And the pink and lavender sphere will look perfect tucked into your new spring clutch – I’ve got my eyes on this one.
