Biologique Recherche P50

Biologique Recherche P50 on Belle Belle Beauty

I finally bit the bullet and ordered the legendary Biologique Recherche P50 last week. I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into, but when skin mavens like Emily Weiss rave, I pay attention. It was Jenna Lyons’ morning routine that put me over the edge.

One thing that had held me back before, was the difficulty in ordering the French brand from here in the States. But Rescue Spa was super easy and I could complete my purchase using Amazon (prime baby!).

There are actually several versions of the P50 (one for dryer skin, one for hyper-pigmentation, etc…). I opted for the original but not the P50 1970 which is banned in Europe. I figure if it isn’t available there, it has no business on my skin. But to each their own.

The serum/toner is described as a facial in a bottle, erasing fine lines, shrinking pores and balancing skin. Exfoliating ingredients like lactic acid and salicylic acid lighten dark spots and control oil production. Some experience a little tingling at first – I sure did. But that has dissipated every time I have used it since. I don’t experience any redness but I have heard some report a sort of healthy flush. I have to say I am already hooked – the intrigue and slightly odd smell have me feeling like I am part of a secret club. I will report back after a couple weeks!

Jade Roller Massager

Jade Roller Massager on Belle Belle Beauty

I am kicking myself because I stumbled on this find during some late night surfing and cannot for the life of me figure out what beauty blogger buddy came across this gem. (If it was you, please let me know! – I really really want to give credit where due). I immediately hit purchase for myself and some friends. I am all about a beauty device, especially at budget friendly prices.

This jade roller is super smooth and used to massage your face, neck and forehead. The smaller roller on the other end works well on the nose and under eyes. This action promotes blood circulation, reducing puffiness and wrinkling. Not to mention, I love how pampering if feels. I use with any lotion for extra hydration.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes

Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cotton Extract on Belle Belle Beauty

I’ve been a fan of micellar water to remove makeup for the last several years – still love this one. But lately, I have been turning to wipes. It could be because I’ve been traveling a bit more. But I am willing to guess it is because it is also because the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cotton Extract are just too good to resist.

These clothes don’t irritate my sensitive skin, and actually sooth with rice extract and aloe. The formula is simple without fragrance. And is dermatologist-tested as hypoallergenic. I like using before I wash my face and setting aside to clean up any remaining eye makeup after cleansing. And they also come in handy those nights when a full regime is just too daunting.

bluemercury M-61 powerglow peel

bluemercury M-61 powerglow peel on Belle Belle Beauty

I am a big fan of in-office peels with your aesthetician. But sometimes that isn’t always possible. And bluemercury has a solution is just as good. With a new store here in Tulsa and their 18th anniversary, I figured I’d bring back an old favorite to the routine. The M-61 powerglow peel is a fan-favorite product at the store. The 1-minute 1-step peel works well as part of a a regular routine or for special occasions for a radiant glow.

I do want to note that this isn’t for the weak at heart. I call the effect “spicy” but this definitely stings. I don’t mind since I can be sensitive and I know it is working. But those who have temperamental skin might want to test out before buying a big box of peels.

The wipe is super easy to travel with. Packed with glycolic and salicylic acids, the peel exfoliates, resurfaces and clarifies skin. But the best effect is the radiant glow. The chamomile and lavender calm skin and I credit them with leaving only very slight redness on my skin.

Available at bluemercury.

SheaMoisture African Black Soap Eczema & Psoriasis Therapy

SheaMoisture African Black Soap Eczema & Psoriasis Therapy on Belle Belle Beauty

I have suffered from psoriasis for most of my life, but just this year I learned that there is a Psoriasis Awareness Month. And it just happens to be August! No wonder we get a month for awareness – I am far from alone in suffering. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, over 7.5 million people in the United States alone suffer from psoriasis. While Eczema and Psoriasis aren’t the same, I’ve had flare ups of eczema also, and was so glad to see a collection that addresses both conditions. And in such a cool, homeopathic way.

The SheaMoisture African Black Soap Eczema & Psoriasis Therapy collection harnesses the power of African Black Soap, an ingredient used throughout Africa for centuries. It is used for covering blemishes, diminishing dark spots and exfoliating skin. The formula works to calm irritation, soothe inflammation (the real culprit here in my opinion) and clean skin without harsh chemicals. I love the fragrance – or rather, the lack thereof. There is this really clean tropical feel, not cloying or sweet. But still with a hint of coconut and vanilla.

Reading some of the reviews, I can’t help but notice that so many of them rave about acne improving using the bar soap. And what a deal at under $5. With so much skincare getting prohibitively expensive, I find it refreshing a line that delivers results at a great price point. I can’t imagine my shower now without this bar of soap. It lathers beautifully and my skin is already clearer and less inflamed.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Recovery Complex II

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Recovery Complex II on Belle Belle Beauty

A come to you today with a bold statement: I am not sure my personal skin care routine will ever be complete without the classic Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Recovery Complex. The formula is so outstanding in fighting puffiness and dark circles. This silky gel is proven to reduce signs of aging like wrinkles as well.

Immediately, I notice a smoother appearance under my eyes. The puffiness subsides and my dry skin soaks up the application for a more youthful appearance. Over time, it can help with dark circles and uneven skin tones. I love the cushioned feel without being oily. I use just a small amount on my pinky and blend around my eye at night. I guess it comes with an applicator, but, per usual, I accidentally threw it away. Oops.

Available at Nordstrom.
