Dior ‘Diorshow’ Brow Styler

_5874795

For a long time, I have used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel to tame my brows. I would occasionally fill in with a stray brow pencil but usually I’d rely on the clear gel alone. It worked great but I was finding more and more I needed more color for a really polished look. I was browsing blogs and came across a glowing review of Dior ‘Diorshow’ Brow Styler. So I headed to the store and snagged one for myself.

At the store, the sales person told me she has to keep the samples of the Styler behind the counter because the other brands’ artists kept stealing the beloved brow product for their own makeup kit. The slick bullet packaging seems delicate and fine. This makes for a precise application. I like that the formula can reshape and define while still looking natural. I picked up the Universal Dark Brown for a more dramatic look. But the original Universal Brown probably would work too. I flip to the other side of the styler for the brush to finish and blend. I supposed I could still use my gel to set the look, but I don’t feel like I need it for day-to-day makeup.

By Terry Eyebrow Mascara Tint Brush Fix-Up Gel on Belle Belle Beauty

Brows are having a moment. And a complement on brows has become something special – a true endorsement of how to rock a full eyebrows. Mine have always been on the fuller side, but a little sparse thanks to a buggy thyroid. So when pencils became en vogue, I happily starting filling. But I didn’t care for the dual process of needing a clear gel after to tame and groom.

I’ve tried the MAC tinted brow gel before and liked it… but just liked it. Thanks to my friend’s generous complement the other day – and just a general satisfaction of using just one step – I am happy to report that I love the By Terry Eyebrow Mascara Tint Brush Fix-Up Gel.

The Gel is housed in a sort of tiny, mini mascara tube with an ultra-thin brustled wand. Each coat not only fills in gaps without getting too messy. But it also deposits ingredients to nourish and promote growth. Something I appreciate thanks for the “little sparse” status quo.

I’ve been wearing Medium Ash but likely will pick up the Dark Brown next time. For those with fairer brows, Highlight Blond is also an option. Available at NET-A-PORTER.

Boots #ArchMadness

Boots #ArchMadness on Belle Belle Beauty

My go-to brow products have been part of my vanity routine for years. I have been faithful to Anastasia Brow Gel and the Tom Ford Brow Sculptor together for over two years. So imagine my glee when these affordable pencils and treatments from Boots delighted me to no end.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been using the conditioning Boots No7 Lash & Brow Perfector to tame my brows. It also makes for a great clear mascara if you prefer the “no makeup makeup” look. While I haven’t had the full eight weeks to test the Boots No7 Fanomenal Lash Serum, I am always willing to give something a whirl that promises fuller lashes and brows! So far, so good. I also appreciate it doesn’t irritate delicate skin around lashes.

For color, both the Boots Botanics Eyebrow Pencil and Boots Beautiful Brows Pencil are soft with natural looking color. The Boots Botanics Eyebrow Pencil contains Jojoba Oil and applies slightly softer. The Boots Beautiful Brows Pencil has denser pigmentation and stays put all day long. And major bonus points for a high quality spoolee to brush and tame before filling in. I’ve been using Brown in the Beautiful Brows and Medium Brown in Botanics Eyebrow and both are fabulous matches. The Medium Brown is slightly lighter.

Wintertime Beauty on Belle Belle Beauty

By now, I hope you all have transitioned over to your winter beauty routine. Even though we have been slow to cool down here, I am getting a jump on staying hydrated and embracing winter colors in anticipation. Heck, I might even put my tree up this weekend. After adjusting a reviewing tons of new (and old) products, I’ve come up with a winter beauty routine that centers on radiant skin. My favorites:

Getting Full Brows

Getting Full Brows // Belle Belle Beauty

Full brows have been in for several seasons in a row and I’ve happily forgotten how to achieve thin, sculpted arches. Recently, I’ve even gone so far as to just let my brows grow wild. Sure… I’ll tweet a stray hair but it has to be really rogue for me to go after it. Instead, I add fullness and make sure hairs are brushed and set. Thanks to hypothyroidism, the ends of my brows lack fullness, but powders and pencils help add natural volume. If you are like me and are going after full, natural yet tamed brows, here are my favorite brow goodies to achieve the look:

Urban Decay packed everything you need into their new Brow Box. Despite its super tiny size, Brow Box contains two shades of brow powder, setting wax, mini tweezers, two angled brushes and two mirrors (one magnified). The inky powders look natural and have great staying power despite their soft texture. The wax grips without being sticky. And so handy to have tweezers right there should you find a stray.

If you prefer a singular tool, try the NARS Brow Perfector. The waxy texture actually drys velvety matte. And the formula prevents any mistakes from a heavy hand. While it can be hard to great a dramatic look, Brow Perfector is ideal for achieve natural looking, full brows.

Shiseido Eyebrow Styling Compact offers a dark brown shade if you need/prefer a deeper shade. The duo powders can be blended for subtle coloring and shading. The included applicator is dual ended with a sharp tool (for bold looks) and a brush (for a more natural effect). The formula has great staying power but still is creamy and blendable.

The ultimate in luxury (and a fan favorite), Tom Ford Brow Sculptor has an angled, waxy calligraphy tip, included sharpener and grooming brush on the opposite end. The angled tip allows for both thin and wide strokes. The waxy consistency helps hold shape and color.
