I know practically every blog is talking about the Nordstrom sale right now – so I will spare you a round up of favorites since so many of my fellow bloggers have curated stellar picks. Just one thing I’d like to share on the beauty front since this is the perfect time to stock up on classics.
There is something so pure and timeless about Mario Badescu. Their packaging is chic and simple at the same time. For the sale, the brand is offering the The Icon, The Cult Favorite & The Hero’ Set – a trio of absolute “must haves”. Included is:
Drying Lotion – the only spot treatment I use on my acne. The calamine, salicylic acid and drying formula zaps stubborn spots overnight. Dip a cotton swab into pink sediment at the bottom of the bottom (don’t shake the bottle). Apply directly on the affected spot.
Botanical Exfoliating Scrub – a botanical scrub ideally used a couple times a week for a deep clean. Skin is left radiant and clear.
Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater – a favorite summertime product, this mist is fragrant and hydrating. The slightly herbal fragrance awakens the skin without disturbing makeup. Also great for by the pool.
All the products are made in the USA. Shop Nordstrom sale here.
It is almost Memorial Day Weekend and there are loads of sales out there. But one of my favorites of the year is Nordstrom‘s Half-Yearly – such an easy way to shop online (and right now packed with deals). Thought I’d pop in tonight while I watch some basketball and share some of my picks. Happy Shopping!
Back when I first got to know bareMinerals in those days right after college graduation, the brand was affordable, great for acne-prone skin and based on the then unfamiliar “mineral makeup” approach. Fast forward to fifteen years later (yikes – that went fast!) and the brand has maintained its affordable price point. But the formulas have evolved with luxury-level formulas. And the same can be said for their tools. The brushes are not only beautifully made but also really really great at application.
Let me preface that this isn’t a complaint, but this week has been weird. My best buddy and I discussed last night over wine that something must be going on with the planets – we immediately pulled up our horoscopes. It hasn’t been bad but I’ve felt this odd sort of self-awareness and awkwardness. So the plan for Saturday and Sunday is to hunker down and spend some time at my pool. It is hotter than ever here in Tulsa so likely it will be more like “time IN my pool”. And tonight I will be decompressing from the work week with some research for a vacation. I am due for a beach like the one above… seriously. And of course another review of the Nordstrom sale, which became available to everyone today. Here’s what I have my eye on:
The annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale launches tomorrow for Reward Members (opens up to the public on 7/17). Nordstrom Cardholders will get double points 7/9-7/16 – you better bet I’ll be shopping. Some of my favorites from the site lately (yes, I’ve been creating my wish list):
Surprised I don’t have Scandinavian blood because I totally get “all things koselig, the Norwegian word for ‘cozy.'” Loved this essay about living in the Arctic Circle and seasonal affect disorder. I do believe enjoying the season is a mindset. Maybe I should embrace that idea while I bemoan this sweltering summer heat.
