Rebecca Minkoff Visits Saks and Chats Beauty With Belle Belle

Rebecca Minkoff Visits Saks and Chats Beauty With Belle Belle // Belle Belle Beauty

Last night I had the great pleasure of fetting famed designer Rebecca Minkoff at Saks Tulsa. Part of her #RMRoadShow, Rebecca spent a “Girls Night Out” signing bags and enjoying some beauty treats. There was a ponytail bar, manicures with MAC nail polish and touch ups by Laura Mercier. Not to mention a fashion show of Rebecca’s latest spring looks (I’ve got my eye on this dress).

But the best part for this beauty junkie was sitting down with Rebecca before the festivities to talk about her own beauty routine. Whether on the road or back in New York City, I got the dirt on her favorites. First, what is in this fabulous purse she’s carrying? Below are her tried and true favorites:

And for her regular beauty routine in NYC? Facials at Joanna Vargas, massages at Bliss Spa and regular Pravana Keratin Fusion Texture Control treatment on the hair (FYI this is safer, newer version of keratin).

What a thrill it was to have this sweet and fashionable designer in Tulsa. Thanks for having us, Saks!

Stila Prime Pot Waterproof Eye Shadow Primer

Ever want something that can make eyeshadow stick and withstand summer heat? And, to boot, no creases? My new, little Prime Pot is just what the doctor ordered.  Right now, I am using this for a clean and neutral look that can withstand the pool and sweat.  Over the last couple of days, it is also come in handy for a more awake look (crucial while battling this obnoxious cold).  Expect a matte look that covers imperfections.  I am fair and the Tawny matches my red-undertoned complexion.  Carmel would work with deeper complexion and a more olive undertone.  Stila claims the formula “sticks” to eyeshadow and keeps it from creasing and facilitates easy blending.  It lives up to these claims.  But right now, my favorite look is the smudge pot just on its own.  The product is dry (hence the matte look), but I have no problem blending it with my finger and adjusting coverage.  It isn’t a powder, but it’s not the creamiest of creams.  Definitely a new summer staple for me.

stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Have no fear, those of you who think you can’t handle a liquid eyeliner pen.  This stila applicator is really a breeze!.  The pen is precise and you can build the line with layers of application.  But that is just the beginning.  When I say “staying power”, I mean this sucker isn’t going ANYWHERE.  I can rub my eyes, shower and even wash my face and the line remains solid and pigmented as ever.   But along with no smudges comes a super fast dry. So be sure make adjustments as quickly as possible.  I generally prefer a black liner, and this is a wonderful, deep and inky shade.  But it is also offered in Indigo and Dark Brown as well.  At $20, this is a good alternative to the Le Metier de Beaute Precision Liquid Eyeliner ($42).

stila One Step Correct

On the bright side, this product’s triple-swirled helix looks super-cool in its container.  But it doesn’t live up to its promise to color-correct my skin.  There was no noticeable reduction in redness.  While I did look slightly brighter, the serum caused my skin to feel tight.  This serum is part of a one-step collection, promising anti-aging with their Youth Revival ingredients.  However, when I think of stila, great pigments and fabulous glosses come to mind, and I think that is what they should stick with.
