No secret I have a soft spot for all things NARS. But one little gem from the holiday collection has stolen my heart. This eye shadow, in my book, is the universally beautiful base and highlighting shadow. Texture and formula have me reaching for it every single day. And as a beauty blogger with an arsenal of makeup, that’s saying a ton.
NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection Limited Edition Cinematic Eye Shadow in Mississippi Mermaid has a soft texture, but it isn’t creamy. I get a nude creamy metallic golden pink that I love alone or with a slightly darker shade on my lid to crease. I tend towards more neutral looks, but you can also apply this wet for a more intense finish.
This collection was met with some notoriety. Françios Nars was inspired by Guy Bourdin’s sexually evocative fashion photography from the 1970’s. More specifically, this collection echoes the bold colors and finishes from Guy Bourdin’s world. Some feel that some of that photography exploited women. While I am not well-informed enough about his art, I will say I do not condone any form of exploitation.
That being said, I know both you, dear readers, and I love NARS and want to know about new releases. I felt this beautiful eye shadow was worth sharing. Available at Sephora.
