Holiday Eye Routine

Holiday Eye Routine on Belle Belle Beauty

There has been lots of talk over here on Belle Belle Beauty about a bold red lip for the holidays. While I am learning to embrace this trend, more often than not, you’ll find me with lined eyes and a neutral lip gloss. Today, I am going to give you the low down on my favorite eye routine.

First, it is all about prep. I love using Simple SkinCare’s Revitalizing Eye Roll-On to wake up tired peepers. The roller ball instantly cools and vitamins nourish the delicate tissue. I brush my eyebrows with either an eyebrow brush or Anastasia Brow Gel.  Last, I prep lids with a primer like this one or MAC Paint Pot in Painterly.

Next, I apply a neutral and semi-shimmer eye shadow from my lashes to brow to even out skin and add a base. I’ve been reaching for NARS Single Eyeshadow in Mississippi Mermaid or the Cognac Diamond in Chantecialle “The Diamonds” Eyeshadow Palette. If I want to add a little depth, I pick a slightly darker color on my lids to the crease. I rarely add deeper shades to my crease or outer corner because I feel that it weights down my almond shaped, deep set eyes.

And then it is back to the brows. While I have been faithful to Tom Ford’s Brow Sculptor in Chestnut, I have also been incorporating a bolder look with darker shades. Urban Decay’s Brow Box in Brown Sugar offers a deep brown to really frame out my face. I’ll tweeze any rogue hairs at this point but I’ve been leaving brows fairly full and natural.

Next, I’ll line my water line with By Terry’s Crayon Kohl in Holy Black (part of their killer holiday collection reviewed here). This waterproof pencil has great saying power and just a touch of sheen. I might add a little above my lashes if I’m going for an evening look. Otherwise, I’ll swipe NARS Le Stylo in Carpates in a tight line very close to my lashes. I’ve found layering formulas allows for better staying power. To finish up, I curl lashes (it always makes me feel more awake). I’ve been reaching for bareMinerals Lash Domination in Intense Black for thick, false-like lashes. And voila – that’s my eye routine.
