Icy winter weather is back again and we are officially in the throws of holiday celebration. While I am not “taking off” any days this week, I will be slightly lighter on the posts. Instead, I’ll be practicing holiday looks and fine tuning some You Tube tutorials for you in the New Year! Speaking of holiday looks, my favorites this season has been neutral eyes and lips with radiant and glowing skin. I’ve discovered some tips and tricks and wanted to share!
First and foremost, we need to talk hydration. Beautiful skin starts the night before with an application of nourishing moisture. My sensitive, dry skin is loving Simple Skincare Replenishing Rich Moisturizer. It packs a moisture punch and brings a glow with its vitamin infused formula. Again in the morning, I apply again to get a radiant base. I follow with ReVive Sensitif Oil-Free Lotion SPF 15 (yes, you need SPF in the winter too). It contains Epidermal Growth Factor, rejuvenating skin and acts as a perfect primer under makeup.
Now that we have the perfect canvas, I use my beauty blender sponge to apply Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (I wear shade 4.5). Luminous Silk has long been one of my favorite foundations and has been lauded as the best by many. I follow up with my under eye routine that I have now been loyally turning to for almost a year. Apply NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer using a fluffy eye shadow brush like this one.
A brand new powder has captured my heart. I am going to do a full review this week, but just know Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi Pressed Powder is this stuff dreams are made of. The finish is bright without being heavy or even really detectable. Lately, I have been reaching for old trusty MAC Bronzing Powder. The balance of frost, sheerness and tone make it perfect for just a touch of contour and glow. I use the shade “Matte Bronze” but I don’t find it to be 100% matte.
Last but certainly not least, I use bareMinerals READY blush in The Natural High from the REMIX collection. Amazing, this is still in stock and I urge you to snap it up. It rivals so many other fan favorite blushes. I tap lightly on the apples of my cheeks for that rosy, by-the-fire glow. And voila! Ready to go!
