Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes

Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cotton Extract on Belle Belle Beauty

I’ve been a fan of micellar water to remove makeup for the last several years – still love this one. But lately, I have been turning to wipes. It could be because I’ve been traveling a bit more. But I am willing to guess it is because it is also because the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cotton Extract are just too good to resist.

These clothes don’t irritate my sensitive skin, and actually sooth with rice extract and aloe. The formula is simple without fragrance. And is dermatologist-tested as hypoallergenic. I like using before I wash my face and setting aside to clean up any remaining eye makeup after cleansing. And they also come in handy those nights when a full regime is just too daunting.

Perricone MD Nutritive Cleanser

I am like Goldilocks with my cleansers. I can’t seem to find one that is just right. I love Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar and classic Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser, but they didn’t demand my loyalty. Perricone MD Nutritive Cleanser might not be the end all, be all of cleansers, but it comes close.

This facial wash has a gel-texture but doesn’t strip skin like other gel cleansers. I find that the day is washed away but my skin is still supple and nourished – a delicate balance. The formula is designed to purify skin and remove makeup without removing skin’s natural oils. In addition, it delivers anti-oxidants like DMAE and Alpha Lipoid Acid to help fight aging.

I do need a swipe of makeup remover on my eyes first, but that is likely due to my addition to waterproof mascara. Other than that, skin is perfectly primed for treatment. I cannot detect a strong scent. While it is pricey for a cleanser, I am a sucker for packaging and it looks fab in my bathroom. And I’ve used it for a month and the bottle is still over 3/4ths full. Formula is paraben-free. Available at Sephora.

Father’s Day – Anthony Glycolic Facial Cleanser Duo

Anthony Glycolic Facial Cleanser Duo on Belle Belle Beauty

I already shared one Father’s Day idea with you guys, but this one merits a mention as well. Like I said in my last post, dad has really gotten into the skin care game – kind of amazing for a manly hunter type of guy. One thing he really enjoys is exfoliating, glycolic formulas – actually how I got him hooked in the first place.

So with that in mind, I cannot wait to give the Anthony Glycolic Cleanser Duo to him on the 19th! The set features two full size Glycolic Cleansers. The Anthony Glycolic Facial Cleanser deep cleans without stripping the skin, exfoliating and controlling breakouts. Glycolic Acid at 4.9% removes surface impurities while calendula, chamomile, and aloe vera nourish and soothe.

Available at Ulta.com.

JĀSÖN Gentle Basics Collection

JĀSÖN Gentle Basics Collection on Belle Belle Beauty

I’m in the mode of looking for something simple for my face. As I treat my rosacea, I have found I prefer something ultra soothing in my skin care routine. While I have been using Cetaphil, I have actually enjoyed the equally price-friendly JASON collection even better.

The JĀSÖN Gentle Basics is formulated with a minimum number of essential ingredients. The hypoallergenic products are friendly for those with ultra-sensitive and dry skin. The inclusion of Borage Oil deposits essential Omega-3 acids to nourish.

No surprise that the cleansing towelettes are my favorite – perfect for travel and late, lazy nights. The whole range is free of parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, sodium lauryl or laureth sulfates. Gluten free. Fragrance free.

  • Facial Cleanser ($11.99)
  • Day Lotion($16.99)
  • Cleansing Towelettes($6.99)
  • Night Cream($16.99)

Available at Wal-Mart.

Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub

I’ve been complaining about it here on the regular, but I feel the need to say it again: my skin has been going nuts. I finally found a serum that has cleared up my skin within a week (keep an eye out for a review later this week or next). But I also think the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub has been playing its own role.

Bioré has always been a favorite for drugstore beauty – I adore their charcoal collection. So this immediately had my attention. The formula is powder-to-foam (perfect for travel) and works as a deep skin cleanser. The scrub activates with water and turns into a surprisingly luscious foam. It gives skin a solid clean without being harsh and exfoliating without over-scrubbing. Because it is a deeper cleaning, I try to limit use to 2-3 times per week.

Available at Target and Amazon.

Korres Milk Soap

Korres Milk Soap on Belle Belle BeautyOn a cold winter day back in 2002, my friend and I were wandering New York City and popped in a Sephora to warm up. Actually, I didn’t even need to use the excuse of cold weather to duck into the beauty mecca. I love shopping at Sephora when I am in New York and always have – our store here in Tulsa is a ways from home and frankly just not quite the same. It was on that visit to Sephora years ago that I found my love for Korres.

First it was the body butters then the lip butters. More recently it was the Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. Across the board, everything from the brand was a pleasure to use and priced well for a luxury line. And bonus for smelling delicious.

I am currently testing yet another new favorite, the Korres Milk Bar. With all the testing and trying I do, I was eager to use this mild soap as my skin can become easily irritated. And regular readers know I can’t resist a great lather. What’s special about this bar (and the entire Korres Milk line) is that it cleanses and heals. The proteins from the milk reduce inflammation. In addition, almond oil works to nourish and moisturize. The natural emollient keeps skin looking supple and young. My skin is left totally clean but still hydrated. And this bar, like all Korres products, is so beautifully packaged and make for pretty gifts.

As a side note, I had picked up the Korres Milk Greek Yoghurt Cleansing & Make-Up Removing Wipes which were a dream to use. Making a note to snag these next time I duck into Sephora.
