Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual Lotion with Marula Oil

Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual Lotion with Marula Oil on Belle Belle Beauty

I know we are entering the shorter days of summer. But if you are like me, this is my favorite time of summer to plan parties and trips. They are somewhat sweeter when they come savored late. Plus, things are less crowded now that school is firing up. So forgive me if I am daydreaming about a voyage to the beach. I am headed to Southern California in a couple weeks and cannot wait. To get help with a glow, I turn to Vita Liberata and their Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual Lotion with Marula Oil is my new favorite formula.

This self-tanner acts just like a moisturizer and would be great for dry and sensitive skin. The texture is light-weight but packs a hydration punch. The subtle glow can be built deeper with repeated applications. I can detect no scent at all thanks to the company’s Odour Remove™ technology. I like to exfoliate first but I would not say it is mandatory. I get the most even application using the tan mitt and highly recommend splurging for one. Wait to shower for eight hours after application.

Available at Sephora and Nordstrom.

Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual

Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual on Belle Belle Beauty

I decided to take today off from work to be with my two puppies (sidenote: they are almost six years old but will always be my puppies). They had their annual teeth cleaning yesterday – which I know might sound ridiculous to some of you. But my rescues genetically ended up with terrible teeth and gums so we have to go in every year to pull teeth and clean things up. Anyway, the anesthesia makes them super snoozy and they have to be on pain killers. So, yes… I am that crazy dog momma that stayed home with her fur kids today.

I used the day off to extend my “clean-out by using up old products” I mentioned yesterday. Today’s project was in the kitchen. I used some odds and ends to pull together a darn good dinner. And threw out items that were … um … past their prime.

Anyway, the day off also provided me with the chance to try out some new beauty products. I have sadly recognized my summer glow fading so I first reached for some self-tanner. Vita Liberata has always been a favorite brand so I was excited to try out some of their newer products. The Vita Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual was just what the doctor ordered – gentle, subtle, great smelling and nourishing.

The formula is relatively thin and applies clear – something I prefer for nighttime application. My dry skin soaks up the hydration provided by aloe vera and Hyaluronic Acid. Grape Seed Extract also improves the appearance of skin. The glow can be deepened with repeated use. So far, I haven’t found that sometimes “dirty” look that can sometimes have repeated self-tanner application. But I do suggest a light exfoliation before use. The lack of that annoying self-tanner scent is thanks to Vita Liberata’s Odour Remove™ – I truly cannot detect a fragrance or odor at all. Granted, I am not super sensitive to it, but this is one of the least offensive self-tanners I have tried.

Does not contain triclosan, GMOs, fragrance, or alcohol. Available at Sephora.

Body Care For Fall

Body Care For Fall // Belle Belle Beauty

I love transitions between seasons. Sifting through makeup, fashion and fragrances, I’ve been rotating in more fall-friendly shades, textures and notes. My fruity perfume was temporarily retired while I returned to my beloved NEST Fragrances Midnight Fleur (and new White Sandlewood – more on that next week!). Sweaters are pulled down from the top shelf. And deeper, richer hues adorn my eyes and lips.

But routines don’t stop changing there. Taking care of your body, skin and health also requires some adjustment. Especially if you live in a part of the country that gets über dry. Read on for my top five body care items for the fall:

The newest scent from Bliss is ‘Grapefruit + Aloe’ which might sound more like Spring, but it is putting a pep in my step. Bliss ‘Grapefruit + Aloe’ Body Butter soothes my easily irritated skin and this long time favorite formula has no greasy feel. It also comes in a body wash and bubble bath.

Caudalie stole my heart when they came out with Divine Oil. The spray body oil has the best scent and is so nourishing for my skin. Now they really outdid themselves with Divine Legs, a perfectly bronze-y tinted lotion that works to improve the look of your legs (or arms or decolletage). Skip the hassle of self-tanner and slather on notes of grapefruit, rose, pink pepper, vanilla, cedar, and white musk.

Tom Ford Black Orchid Hydrating Emulsion is the ultimate in luxe body care. His fragrances are so perfectly unisex and those masculine notes fit with the changing season. This satin-like hydrating treatment has woodsy, spicy and floral notes.

You know me… I can’t resist a good body oil (see above). And Clarins ‘Tonic’ Body Treatment Oil goes above and beyond. This formula works to firm skin and can prevent pregnancy or weight loss related stretch marks. And you can’t beat the scent thanks to natural plant extracts and aromatic essential oils.

And I know I’ve mentioned it before, but this self-tanner takes the cake if you want to prolong that summer glow. Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Mousse is super long-lasting, has great color and is odorless. I like applying with a mitt using Medium, but it is also available in Dark. Bonus for a gluten, cruelty, and oil free formula.

Vita Liberata Self-Tanners

Vita Liberata Self-Tanners // Belle Belle Beauty

There is a new self-tanner in town, and I am in love. Vita Liberata recently showed up at Sephora and I was hearing rave reviews. The sophisticated and simple packaging evoke the company mission of brilliant chemistry working to create the best tan while still being a a joy to use.

I’ve been using pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Mousse in Medium and Untinted Self Tan Lotion For Body in Warm. The Tan Mousse comes in Light, Medium and Dark, while the Untinted Self Tan comes in Warm, Deep and Deeper Deep. I’ve found both shades I am using work for my light-medium skin tone.

The pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Mousse in Medium is featherweight and has some serious long-term staying power. Using pHenO2 technology, this formula gives an immediate and odorless color. (Yep, I really promise these have no odor) The drying time was impressive and I wasn’t concerned with wearing (mostly dark) clothing shortly after application. Marine and organic botanical extracts work to allow the tan to last up to four times longer than regular tans. I’m still going strong midway through week two of this tan.

Untinted Self Tan Lotion For Body in Warm also is odorless and dries in a jiff. Since this is untinted, I had no fear throwing on even the lightest colored clothing. This formula is nourishing but not overly thick, working as a moisturizer. In about four hours, I had developed a glowing bronze. I think this self-tanner has given me the most natural looking tan out of the dozens I have tried. It also contains marine and organic botanicals to condition skin.

I’ve had great luck applying both of these formulas with a tanning mitt. I am a big believer these are worth investing in. They protect the palms and allow for the most beautiful, streak-free blending of self-tanner. And it should be noted that Vita Liberata products are dermatologically tested, and gluten- and cruelty-free.
