Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes

Burt's Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cotton Extract on Belle Belle Beauty

I’ve been a fan of micellar water to remove makeup for the last several years – still love this one. But lately, I have been turning to wipes. It could be because I’ve been traveling a bit more. But I am willing to guess it is because it is also because the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Cotton Extract are just too good to resist.

These clothes don’t irritate my sensitive skin, and actually sooth with rice extract and aloe. The formula is simple without fragrance. And is dermatologist-tested as hypoallergenic. I like using before I wash my face and setting aside to clean up any remaining eye makeup after cleansing. And they also come in handy those nights when a full regime is just too daunting.

Dermalogica PreCleanse

Dermalogica PreCleanse on Belle Belle Beauty

Suzie did a great job reviewing Demalogica PreCleanse over here not too long ago. In fact, she did so well that I was inspired to revisit the old favorites for another spin. While Suzie and I have different skin types, we do share a love of eyeliner and I wanted to give you a perspective as it relates to dry and sensitive skin.

While wipes are getting a small backlash lately, I still think they play a good role in a nighttime routine. I try to shy away from the “lazy” approach of just using wipes lest I leave my skin striped of moisture. The PreCleanse wipes get all my makeup off my face but somehow prep for a full wash with a nourishing oil. My eyes are usually red after makeup removal but not with PreCleanse.

I definitely reach for the wipes more often but  I also love the classic oil. I am trying to save the wipes for some upcoming travel. Both eliminate excess sebum, environmental pollutants and even waterproof makeup. And their formulas are water soluble so they work well with oilier skin.

To use the oil, I pour a small amount in my palm and apply onto my dry face. I rinse with water and the oil transforms into a milky cleanser. Voila skin is makeup-free and not one bit irritated or dry (but do take care to keep the oil away from the eyes – I can get some stinging so this is better suited for removing face as opposed to eye makeup).

Dermalogica PreCleanse Wipes

Dermalogica PreCleanse Wipes on Belle Belle Beauty

Sorry for the unintended blog break over here on Belle Belle Beauty. We’ve had quite the snow storm in Oklahoma and I made it a bit of a snow day weekend. Schools have been closed since Friday. And you can imagine at this point we all have a little cabin fever. So happy to get back into the swing of things. And I can think of no better way than the launch of a new product from Dermalogica, a brand I have recently been falling for.

If you are itching to try out Simple Skincare but haven’t gotten around to it… now’s your chance! Safeway is having a stellar “Buy 2, Get 2” promotion – buy two Simple Skincare products, get $2 off. What a great chance to get on a new summer regimen!

My two Simple Skincare picks with the warming weather? I keep reaching for the Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes. They seem to do an even better job at cutting through sunscreen and summer buildup. And, at the same time, Zinc PCA refreshes and helps control shine. The Vital Vitamin Day Cream SPF 15 also helps balance me out. Somehow, it manages to keep my skin moisturized without becoming greasy in the warm weather. Not to mention keeps those clogged pores away. It also provides that crucial UVA and UVB protection.

First Aid Beauty Gentle Cleansing Wipes

First Aid Beauty Gentle Cleansing Wipes // Belle Belle Beauty

What did we do before cleansing wipes became popular? They come in so handy during hot days, removing loads of makeup, and saving the evening when I am just too darn lazy to full-out wash my face. But so often they can be abrasive and be tough on especially gentle skin like around the eyes. After hearing my fellow beauty junkies rave about FAB (or First Aid Beauty), I know I wanted to explore the line and what better way than those cherished wipes?

These wipes are generously sized and super soft. They have plenty of product – enough to do the job but not so much they get messy. While you can use these anytime for a general refresh, they do an outstanding job removing makeup – even stubborn eye makeup. They also work against surface oils making them idea post-workout.

A unique blend of chamomile, aloe, and bisabolol calm and soothe the skin. The FAB Antioxidant Booster (Licorice Root, Feverfew, and White Tea) prevents free radical damage. The thoughtful combo of ingredients along with the super soft material make these a winner in my book. Even at $15 for 30 wipes, you get what you pay for. I’d especially recommend these for those with ultra-sensitive skin.

Latest and Greatest from Simple Skincare

Latest and Greatest from Simple Skincare // Belle Belle Beauty

I’ve been test driving the newest Simple Skincare products for about a month now and I wanted to report back on the most recent items to hit the shelves. Like all my other Simple favorites, the new products play oh so well with my sensitive skin. (They introduced two new versions of the wipes – a huge fan favorite!)

Foaming Cleanser: I’m a huge fan of foaming cleansers. There is something so satisfying about that lather, especially when I’m using my Clarisonic. This version from simple is loaded with Pro-Vitamin B5. So not only is your makeup gonzo, but your skin feels refreshed and not stripped of moisture.

Radiance Cleansing Wipes: Call me crazy, but I really do think my skin looks more radiant when I use these. After a workout or first thing in the AM, I’ve been opting for these as a gentle way to refresh. Mango extract helps leave skin not only clean, but healthier.

Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes: I’ve been a long time fan of Zinc PCA to heal angry or irritated skin. So no wonder I’m a fan of these wipes. If you are prone to shine, these guys will leave your skin clean, not irritated and balanced. But even on my dry skin, they don’t strip my skin of moisture.

Eye Make Up Remover Pads: For some reason, I’ve been reviewing loads of gel eyeliner. We love this stuff, right? Stays on so well. But removing it can be irritating to delicate skin around the eyes, especially if the skin is already sensitive. Simple’s Eye Make-Up Remover Pads are loaded with gentle cleansers to get after stubborn makeup with out stinging or drying. They get every little bit of hard to remove makeup with a couple swipes.

Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15: The biggest pet peeve I have with my sensitive skin is how some SPFs can sting and burn after application. While I’ve navigated what UV blockers are the main culprits, I haven’t found a good drugstore SPF with zero sting. Until now. Protecting Light Moisturizer with SPF 15 is oil-free but still nourishing (packed with vitamins and moisturizers). The non-greasy finish works especially well under makeup.
